On Sunday, Justin Caldbeck, co-founder of Binary Capital LLC, resigned amid detailed sexual harassment allegations from six female tech entrepreneurs. While the tech industry’s diversity problems are well known, the process by which most startups receive funding introduces a uniquely one-sided power dynamic into business relationships. Additionally, women make up only 7 percent of investing partners at the top 100 VC firms and a Bloomberg analysis found that among companies receiving at least $20 million in funding, women-led organizations got an average of $77 million, compared to $100 for male-led organizations.
