In the 1990s, the East Bay punk rock scene gained national prominence as the home of bands like Green Day and Operation Ivy. “Turn It Around,” the new documentary produced by Green Day and narrated by Iggy Pop, dives deeply into the bands, zines and people that made the East Bay punk scene thrive, including Berkeley’s all-ages club 924 Gilman. We’ll discuss the pivotal moments and people that made the East Bay part of punk rock history.
