The United Nations passed a resolution Friday denouncing Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, describing them as a major obstacle to peace between Israel and its Palestinian neighbors. In a break from long-standing policy, the U.S. decided not to veto the measure, prompting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to accuse President Obama of orchestrating the vote.
