Evacuation of civilians and rebels in eastern Aleppo resumed Sunday after coming to a halt earlier in the weekend when some of the buses used were set on fire. Thousands still await removal from the city. The Syrian government captured the rebel-held city after a ground-and-air siege by government and Russian forces, during which Aleppo residents posted “final goodbyes” on social media. The five-year civil war has killed more than 500,000 people, displacing half the country’s residents. On Monday, the United Nations Security Council unanimously approved a resolution to monitor the evacuations. We’ll get the latest on the crisis.
