Russian government hacking of the US election was aimed at electing Republican Donald Trump, not just undermining the American electoral system. That’s the assessment of US intelligence officials, according to a report by The Washington Post on Friday. President-elect Trump dismissed the revelations Sunday on Fox News, accusing Democrats of making excuses for losing the election. Meanwhile, an oil executive with close ties to Russia is reportedly Trump’s leading pick for secretary of state.
