Tom Ammiano isn’t your garden-variety politician. The former state assemblyman and San Francisco district supervisor was the city’s first openly gay teacher, worked closely with Harvey Milk and has been a standup comic since 1980. Ammiano, the self-described “Mother of Gay Comedy,” has used humor as a weapon throughout his long political career. We’ll talk with him about “Mincing Words,” his new autobiographical one-man show at San Francisco’s Marsh Theater.
