But in recent years, The Mission has become a symbol of the dramatic economic changes transforming the city. “The Mission Detour,” a new interactive audio tour produced by travel startup Detour in collaboration with KQED, addresses these issues in a guided walk down 24th Street where listeners hear narratives that explore both the neighborhood’s traditions and the struggles over gentrification and displacement.
