A Catholic hospital in Redding can refuse to perform a common birth control procedure, a San Francisco judge said Thursday. Rebecca Chamorro sued Mercy Medical Center for sex discrimination after the hospital withheld the procedure, known as tubal ligation, on religious grounds. We discuss the implications of the ruling.
