Eight years ago, Kim Chambers suffered a severe leg injury that nearly resulted in amputation. The former classical ballerina and UC Berkeley rower then took up swimming to stay fit and rehabilitate. Last weekend, Chambers spent over 17 hours swimming the 30-mile stretch between the Farallon Islands and the Golden Gate Bridge, a feat accomplished by only four other people, all of them men. Kim Chambers joins us in studio to talk about her experiences in the world of extreme open water swimming.
