A year ago, the California Legislature approved far-reaching changes to public school funding, giving more power to local districts and additional resources for disadvantaged students. Now, as districts come up with plans to implement the new “Local Control Funding Formula,” battle lines are forming over how the new money should best be spent. We’ll discuss the status of the new law, which will be discussed at a State Board of Education meeting on July 9.
