Routine Pelvic Exams Unnecessary for Healthy Women

Do women need to undergo an annual pelvic exam? Maybe not, according to a new paper published this week by the American College of Physicians. The study concludes that annual screenings cause unnecessary pain and discomfort and are not effective in detecting cancers. We’ll hear from health professionals about the pros and cons of annual pelvic exams.
