San Francisco-based novelist Daniel Alarcón’s new highly acclaimed book, “At Night We Walk in Circles,” is set in an unnamed, war-torn Latin American country. It follows a young actor performing in a provocative play called “The Idiot President.” Alarcón’s first novel, “Lost City Radio,” was named Novel of the Year by the San Francisco Chronicle and the Washington Post, and the New Yorker picked Alarcón as one of their “20 Under 40” fiction writers worth watching. Alarcón joins us in the studio to discuss his new novel and his continuing work as executive producer of the Spanish language long-form radio program, “Radio Ambulante.”
