Writer Christopher Bram says he “read his way out of the closet” with books from Gore Vidal, Truman Capote and Tennessee Williams. In his new survey of gay writers, Bram describes the rivalries, joys and struggles of gay writers and suggests that “the gay revolution began as a literary revolution.”
