Proposition H on the San Francisco ballot would encourage the city to prioritize placing kids in their neighborhood schools. But critics say the current city policy, which emphasizes school choice for students from low-performing districts, does a better job of keeping San Francisco’s schools diverse. We discuss Proposition H and the issue of school choice in San Francisco.

Guests:

Rachel Norton, member of the San Francisco Board of Education, parent and opponent of Proposition H

Jill Tucker, education writer for The San Francisco Chronicle

Omar Khalif, parent with Families for Neighborhood Schools, a parent activist group and a proponent of Proposition H

Mike Sullivan, co-chair of Families for Neighborhood Schools, parent and supporter of Proposition H
