American poet Jane Hirshfield joins us to talk about her new collection, “Come, Thief.” Booklist describes Hirshfield as “wittily deductive and metaphysically resplendent.”

Her books of poetry include “After,” “Given Sugar, Given Salt,” a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award, and “The Lives of the Heart.”

I enjoyed the poetry but especially her description of the creative process. this interesting lady is  very gifted and sharing.

  • An amazing half-hour (too short, Michael!) with Jane Hirshfield.  Her advice on approaching a poem with generosity and being permeable has created a seismic shift in my pov.  So inspiring!
