The U.S. has the most family-hostile public policy in the developed world. So says Hastings law professor Joan Williams in her new book, “Reshaping the Work-Family Debate: Why Men and Class Matter.”
Williams says the U.S. needs to implement long-talked-about flexibility in the workplace, and she argues that the needs of men, who now report higher levels of work-family conflict than women, have to be part of the discussion.
