New research published in the journal “Pediatrics” shows an increase in the number of girls reaching puberty as early as seven or eight years of age. Experts say the cause of the phenomenon is unclear, and that there may be a slight increase in the risk of health problems including cancer. We talk to one of the study’s authors and others about the findings.
