Sixty-five years ago, the United States dropped atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, ushering in the end of World War II. In the decades since, rampant nuclear proliferation and stockpiling, critics argue, has greatly increased the risk of such weapons falling into the wrong hands. We talk with the producer and director of the new film “Countdown to Zero,” which explores this risk and makes the case for eradicating nuclear arms altogether.
