With California schools facing a huge budget crisis, what’s being done to maintain and grow quality science education in the state’s K-12 schools? In a special remote broadcast from San Francisco’s Exploratorium, we look at innovative programs going on in the Bay Area to bring science to communities with limited resources.

Guests:

Dennis Bartels, executive director of The Exploratorium and appointee to the Education Working Group for the President's Council of Advisers on Science and Technology

Linda Shore, staff physicist and director of The Exploratorium Teacher Institute, and co-author of the award-winning "Science Explorer" series of activity books

Caleb Cheung, program manager for science at the Oakland Unified School District

Sue Boudreau, teacher and chair of the Science Department at Orinda Intermediate School
