- Also known as drinking vinegar, this traditional method of preserving fruit can keep refrigerated for approximately 6 months. If opened and used occasionally, the shrub will last 6-8 weeks (to be safe).
- Shrub beverages have its origins in Colonial America with traditional influence from 17th century England, where vinegar was used to preserve fruits for the off-season. With the advent of refrigerations, shrubs eventually fell out of favor until the recent craft cocktail boom.
