In this episode of Taste This, Spoonbar bar manager Alec Vlastnik makes his version of the classic Dark & Stormy and Moscow Mule cocktails using his special mix of three rums, Mount Gay Black Barrel, Charbay Tahitian Vanilla and Barcardi 8 year. And a taste of his spicy ginger brew is strong enough to clear host Leslie Sbrocco's sinuses!

Recipe: Dark & Stormy

    Ingredients:
  • ½ ounce Charbay Vanilla Rum
  • ½ ounce Coruba Dark Rum
  • ½ ounce Mount Gay Black Barrel Rum
  • 1 ½ ounces House Ginger Beer
  • ¾ ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 dash Angostura Bitters
    Instructions:
  1. Combine the Charbay, Coruba and Mount Gay rums, ginger beer, lime juice and bitters with ice in a cocktail shaker.
  2. Shake and strain into a rocks glass with or without ice.
  3. Serve immediately.

Recipe: Moscow Mule

    Ingredients:
  • ½ ounces 360 Vodka
  • 1 ounces House Ginger Beer
  • ¾ ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 dash Angostura Bitters
    Instructions:
  1. Combine the vodka, ginger beer, lime juice and bitters with ice in a cocktail shaker.
  2. Shake and strain into a rocks glass with or without ice.
  3. Serve immediately.
