“Essential P\u00e9pin” wins an IACP Award!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"IACP<\/a>On April 2, “Essential P\u00e9pin” won the IACP Award for TV Series<\/a> in the New Media & Broadcast Category!<\/p>\n

Jacques P\u00e9pin responds to winning the award:<\/p>\n

“It is very gratifying as this is the first time that the IACP has an award for broadcast media.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Jacques P\u00e9pin was also nominated for two IACP book awards: the Culinary Classic Book Award<\/a> for “La Technique: An Illustrated Guide to the Fundamental Techniques of Cooking<\/a>” and the General Cookbook Award<\/a> for \u201cEssential P\u00e9pin: More than 700 All-Time Favorites from My Life in Food<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jacques won a Culinary Classic Book Award but in the General Cookbook category, \u201cAll About Roasting<\/a>\u201d by Molly Steven won the IACP award over “Essential P\u00e9pin<\/a>” and John Besh’s “My Family Table: A Passionate Plea for Home Cooking<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

KQED’s TV series “Essential P\u00e9pin” was nominated for two prestigious culinary awards in 2012<\/strong> <\/p>\n

On February 12, “Essential P\u00e9pin” was nominated for an IACP<\/a> (International Association of Culinary Professionals) award for TV Series under the new category New Media & Broadcast Award<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On March 19, “Essential P\u00e9pin” was nominated for a 2012 James Beard Award in Broadcast Media<\/a> under the category: Television Program, in Studio or Fixed Location.<\/p>\n

Jacques P\u00e9pin’s responds to the nominations:<\/p>\n

“I am elated to have been nominated for a Beard as well as a IACP award for “Essential P\u00e9pin.” This is a testament to the generosity and professionalism of KQED and to the gift and talent of our team especially Tina Salter my producer; Bruce Franchini, Director; Michael Isip, Executive Producer.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
