{"id":607,"date":"2009-03-20T13:32:55","date_gmt":"2009-03-20T21:32:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kqed.org\/climatewatch\/?p=607"},"modified":"2009-03-20T13:32:55","modified_gmt":"2009-03-20T21:32:55","slug":"water-allocations-tweaked-slightly-upward","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ww2.kqed.org\/climatewatch\/2009\/03\/20\/water-allocations-tweaked-slightly-upward\/","title":{"rendered":"Water Allocations Tweaked Slightly Upward"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A few drops of good news for farmers and cities this week: a heftier late-spring snowpack means there will be slightly more water headed their way this summer.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, the State Department of Water Resources said it will increase water from state reservoirs from 15% of what cities and farms had hoped for, to 20%.\u00a0 Today the federal Bureau of Reclamation (Central Valley Project) followed suit and <a title=\"BOR - allocations update\" href=\"http:\/\/www.usbr.gov\/newsroom\/newsrelease\/detail.cfm?RecordID=27221\">nudged some of its projected allocations up<\/a>, too.<\/p>\n<p>The five-percentage-point bump is mildly good news for some northern California farmers.\u00a0 But farmers in the southern San Joaquin Valley are still slated to get zero gallons from federal reservoirs.
