{"id":24,"date":"2008-09-18T17:26:58","date_gmt":"2008-09-19T00:26:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kqed.org\/climatewatch\/2008\/09\/18\/net-zero-energy-future\/"},"modified":"2008-09-18T17:26:58","modified_gmt":"2008-09-19T00:26:58","slug":"net-zero-energy-future","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ww2.kqed.org\/climatewatch\/2008\/09\/18\/net-zero-energy-future\/","title":{"rendered":"Net Zero Energy Future?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to the Air Resources Board, about a quarter of California&#8217;s (human-induced) greenhouse gas emissions come from buildings&#8211;or what planners like to call the &#8220;built environment.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>My colleague Peter Jon Shuler was at today&#8217;s meeting of the <a title=\"CPUC main site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cpuc.ca.gov\">California Public Utilities Commission<\/a> in San Francisco, when it rolled out its master plan for energy-efficient buildings throughout the state.
