Every once in a while, I become completely overwhelmed with the amount of amazing food writing that we have here in the Bay Area. I could probably spend all day reading local food blogs and still have some leftover at the end of the day.

Below, please find some links that I have been enjoying this week.

Biggles at Meathenge brings us the story of moving a 1200 pound smoker from Fatted Calf to the Meathenge headquarters in "My smoker can totally kick your smoker's ASS."

After it was slid in and in place, I reached back and found I had sweat on the outside of my hair. Yeah, I'm not talking just my scalp, nope. This was huge sweat, manly sweat of manliness. We'd done it. And I didn't screw it up. It took me probably 10 minutes to collect my goozlems and correct my chakras. Time to leave.

If you read I'm Mad and I Eat, you probably have heard blog author Cookiecrumb refer to her husband "Cranky". Well Cranky started a blog and every post I have read is completely entertaining. Read "My Lunch at Joe's Place".. in which Cranky spots a famous quarterback while eating a burrito.

How often do you go to a local burrito shop and see the greatest person in a particular field of human endeavor? Usually you just see a bunch of guys in old T-shirts and jeans. So there he was at a small Mexican market and restaurant behind the garage where I take my car for tuneups -- ta, da -- the greatest quarterback of all time, Joe Montana.

Heidi, of 101 Cookbooks, gives us an interesting recipe this week for Beeramisu, a take on the Italian dessert tiramisu but with an ingredient of Porter beer.

If you are looking for a delicious, impressive, quick no-bake dessert - this is it. Tiramisu or beeramisu, it only takes about five minutes of active time to pull together. The rest if the time it is chilling in the refrigerator. Literally.

Pim, of Chez Pim has been busy. First, you can hear a commentary that she wrote for the NPR show Living on Earth that is about packaging in Thailand. Also, you can read about her inspiring and local dish of "Noodle with green garlic, shitake and crab meat" at Chez Pim.
