Will 'In Your Eyes' be played at Sketchfest's tribute to the music of '80s and '90s movies? We shall see.

We’re in the middle of Sketchfest as we speak, but they recently added a few more shows that marry comedy and music. There’s the Kids in the Hall’s Kevin McDonald and his ’90s-based rock opera Cheaters in Love, the podcast Off Book, which creates an improvised musical.

Something my Do List co-host Suzie Racho is looking forward to is Soundtracks Live: Scenes and Songs from a Classic ’80s Movie with folks like Fred Armisen, Rachel Dratch, Tom Lennon and more — and they’re raising money for 826 Valencia, so it’s for a good cause.

And, mixing movies and cabaret-style jazz, there’s Jeff Goldblum, who appears with his jazz band, The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, at the Marines Memorial Theater. Goldblum is actually a darn good piano player, and often hobnobs with the crowd — judging from my Instagram feed, everyone I know who’s gone to see him has been able to meet him afterward. Sketchfest runs until Jan. 28; details here.
