Son Little, a.k.a. Aaron Livingston, is from Philadelphia — the son of a preacher, who’s in touch with the deepest roots of soul, gospel and the blues. That comes through especially in “Demon in the Dark,” a song off his new album New Magic, in which Little speaks in a kind of prayerful communion to a gospel singer active 100 years ago, Deacon Philips, asking for direction and forgiveness. He’s made me want to get down on my knees and pray along. For his show at the Chapel on Nov. 8, details are here.
