Oakland’s Fantastic Negrito makes music we can all believe in, songs about uniting people and resisting hate. He’s just issued a video for “Push Back” a new song on the re-release of his 2016 album The Last Days of Oakland. It lets Negrito take on the enemy: stress, anxiety and fear, and people who “want to build a wall / but that won’t help at all.” He won a Grammy last year for best blues album, but success hasn’t spoiled him a bit. We just wish he’d play gigs in the Bay Area more often. For his show Saturday, Oct. 14 at the UC Theatre, find details here.
