Robert Hawkins entertains the Comedy Day audience (Photo: Dan Dion/Comedy Day)

There are so many local comedians featured on the bill (51, to be exact) for Comedy Day a five-hour extravaganza celebrating its 37th year on Sept. 17 in Golden Gate Park, it’s hard to pick a favorite. So we chose three: Francesca Fiorentini, better known for her viral news commentary videos for the Al Jazeera online channel AJ plus; Nato Green, reliably snarky about Donald Trump; and political comedian Will Durst, who with his wife Debi has helped organize this event for many of its 37 years now. The setting is Sharon Meadow, soon to be renamed Robin Williams Meadow to honor the local standup superstar, who often used to drop in at Comedy Day as a surprise guest. Details here.
