For those dismayed about four years under President Donald Trump, Dave Eggers has a mixtape for you. Or rather, he did. Now it’s more like a box set.

Eggers, the San Francisco-based, Pulitzer Prize-winning writer, along with Noise Pop co-founder Jordan Kurland, is expanding the collaborative anti-Trump 30 Days, 30 Songs project to 1,000 songs — one for each weekday during President Trump’s four-year term. The two started the project 30 days before Election Day last year in the hopes of preventing a Trump presidency. Since that didn’t work out like they’d hoped, they’ve extended the number of songs — first to 40, and now to 1,000.

The massive expansion of the playlist was announced on Friday, the day of President Trump’s inauguration, and was kicked off with the release of a live recording of R.E.M.’s “It’s the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)” from 1989.

The following Monday, the project came back with Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come.”

The 30 Songs project is an updated version of Eggers and Kurland’s 2012 project, 90 Days, 90 Reasons, which published an essay on President Barack Obama’s accomplishments every day before Election Day 2012.
