“Art is a strong reflection of who we are,” poet and playwright Paul Flores told KQED Arts in the midst of the Frisco Five hunger strike against police brutality led by artists earlier this year. In 2016, Bay Area artists showed us how to be resilient, creative, and inspiring through the most difficult of times.

We put together this best of 2016 video playlist, featuring some of the Bay’s boldest artists and culture makers.

Let’s keep the arts more alive than ever, create together, and support artists in 2017.
