SF Zine Fest
Everything goes in cycles, or so it seems in the world of self-publishing. Armed with typewriters, Wite-Out and Xerox machines, zine editors in the 1990s flourished. The Bay Area in particular was a hotspot of zine activity at the time, producing issues of the nationally known Absolutely Zippo, Tales of Blarg, and the king of them all, Cometbus. Read more
Pop Art from the Anderson Collection
Ten works from SFMOMA, including an Andy Warhol self-portrait, comprise this small exhibit from the collection donated by Harry W. and Mary Margaret Anderson. Consider it a prelude to the 121 works that will grace Stanford’s newly built museum, which opens in September. Read more

Jason Becker: Not Dead Yet Festival 3
Guitar prodigy Jason Becker battles ALS and, despite losing his ability to play, he continues to compose music with the help of assistive technology. This metal-tinged benefit show, with headliner Richie Kotzen, will help pay for Jason’s medical expenses and contribute to a fund for his future care. Read more
