Every Monday, the KQED Arts blog features a new Video of the Week to start the work week off right.

Ever wonder what hell, purgatory, or heaven might look like? Well, now you can avoid that whole death thing and see all three through the eyes of video artist, Marco Brambilla. Using hundreds of looped scenes from movies, Brambilla has created an epic video collage inspired by Dante’s Inferno. Guests at the new Standard Hotel in New York City can take a trip down to hell or ascend to heaven depending on their elevator’s direction. I could only make out the giant marshmellow man from Ghostbusters and that fiery, lasso-wielding monster that pestered Gandolf in Lord of the Rings. Which movies can you spot?

If you have any crazy sexy cool videos of your own, share them with us and we’ll consider them for future installments of Video of the Week!
