Toxic Waste Face combines the superpowers of avant-drag performers Jader (one of the stars of KQED Arts’ Changing Face of Drag series), Vainhein and Pseuda to venture beyond gender-bending and into mind-melting spectacles that combine theater, video art and otherworldly costumes. Forget lipstick, hip pads and regular ol’ lipsyncing—it’s all about alien prosthetics, self-made costumes and interdisciplinary performance art.

In 2017, Toxic Waste Face performed their most ambitious work to date: Mega Mall, a theater piece about a post-apocalyptic future where humans inhabit mall-like shelters and consumerism and survival are intertwined.

Now, the group has been invited to perform at the Satellite Art Fair during Art Basel in Miami. To fundraise for the trip and give their fans at home a peek at what’s in store, Toxic Waste Face’s next performance, Teens With Fever, is set to take place at The Stud, one of San Francisco’s longest-running gay bars, on Oct. 19.

The meat of this drag show will be Toxic Waste Face’s performance, but other exciting drag performers are also featured on the lineup. There’s Florida Man, who just went viral for their sexy Voldemort drag number (yes, you read that correctly), Jillian Gnarling, Nicki Jizz and Boy Young. Plus, DJ sets by Vin Sol, Brown Amy, DJ Lady Bug and Matthew Paul.
