To mark the broadcast premiere of PBS’ The Great American Read, a landmark TV series about America’s love of reading, we want to hear from you: What novel changed your life?

Did discovering a certain author at a pivotal moment in your life change things for you? Perhaps the words you read in a book set you on an unexpected path, or identifying with a certain character taught you more about yourself. If so, we want to tell your story.

In 400-800 words, tell us about the novel that changed your life—and why.  Your words could be featured on our website, KQED radio, TV or social media, so we’d love to hear from you before August 30. If you have any photographs you’d like to share to help tell your story, you can submit them here too.
