Sept. 28–Oct. 1: Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas leads the  San Francisco Symphony in Berlioz’s  Symphonie Fantastique.

Oct. 5: The Berkeley Symphony welcomes back Music Director Joana Carneiro for a concert featuring a world premiere by a talented young Australian composer.

Sept. 28–Oct. 29: The Cutting Ball Theater revives Paula Vogel’s The Mineola Twins, a timely comedy about the rise of radical politics and feminism from the age of Eisenhower through the first Bush.

Oct. 4–8: The Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra presents that rarest of classical hat tricks, a new piece for baroque orchestra, the U.S. premiere of Sally Beamish’s The Judas Passion.

Oct. 4–8: Renaissance troubadour Billy Bragg is on a book tour for Roots, Radicals and Rockers: How Skiffle Changed the World, his tribute to the roots of British rock.
