She takes two city buses to get from home to Piedmont High School. She\u2019s got the hour-long routine down, but there\u2019s one stretch of the bus ride that gets to her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI always have the feeling that something will happen. On the bus I feel like I need to stay alert and watch out for troublesome people around me,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Jordan Williams, 15, always carries mace with him wherever he goes. \u201cI don\u2019t really feel any danger,\u201d he starts when asked to describe his daily commute. \u201cBut, you know, the kidnappings and things like that. That\u2019s kind of scary.
