People gathering at First Fridays in Oakland

From the Festival at the Lake and Art + Soul Oakland, to First Fridays and #BBQnWhileBlack’s new monthly event, the Town has always come together.

Now, we want to see your photos of people gathering to celebrate Oakland, in Oakland.  Whether it’s a throwback family snap from Lake Merritt in the ’90s or a street fair selfie from last week, we want to see it.

Use hashtag #CelebrateTheTown and post your photo to Instagram or Twitter (or as a comment here on Facebook), and tell us what’s going on, too. You could see your photos showcased on our website or social media!

PS. Got a family member with great photos who doesn’t “do” social media? If you can’t post for them, tell them to email them to yourphotos@kqed.org.
