In September, KQED proudly celebrates the diversity of our community with a special Latino Heritage Month programming lineup on KQED Public Television.

This film tells the decade-long story of three couples struggling with infertility who take on the Costa Rican government before an international human rights court to demand the right to use in vitro fertilization (IVF).

Episode three begins in Quito, Ecuador, and relates the amazing story of the 16-month Spanish expedition (1541-42), led by Gonzalo Pizarro, to find El Dorado, the mythical land of gold.

Knowing that the Cuban government severely restricts all foreign journalists, Karin Muller took a huge risk by setting out to film a documentary on a simple tourist visa.

The Truth Revealed looks beyond the politics and propaganda at the Cubans themselves.

The story of Ernest Hemingway's 30-year love affair with the West Indies republic is recounted in this documentary.

6pm American Masters: Pedro E. Guerrero: A Photographer's Journey
Discover the life and work of Mexican-American photographer Pedro E. Guerrero, who collaborated with the likes of Frank Lloyd Wright and sculptors Alexander Calder and Louise Nevelson.

KQED 9 is available over the air on DT9.1, 54.2 and 25.1 and via most cable systems on Channel 9. It is on XFINITY cable from Comcast (Channels 9 SD and 709 HD) and on Wave (Channels 9 SD and 164 HD). It can also be found on DIRECTV and DISH satellite systems (Channels 9 SD and HD).

KQED Plus is available over the air on Channels 54, DT54.1, 9.2 and 25.2, and via many cable and satellite systems on either channel 10 or 54. It is on XFINITY cable from Comcast (Channels 10 SD, and 710 HD) and on DIRECTV (Channel 54 SD and HD) and DISH (Channel 54, SD only) satellite systems.
