Nat Bates For Mayor (Eric Weiss)

Truly CA is proud to partner with San Francisco DocFest for a closing night screening of Nat Bates for Mayor, a chronicle of the outrageous 2014 mayoral race in Richmond, CA.

In an attempt to preserve the long-standing but waning power of Richmond's African-American working class community, Councilman Bates makes a Faustian bargain with a prominent corporate entity. The stage is set for a tense and often comedic battle between the city's offbeat and wacky warring political factions.
