Be part of a historic star-studded event! The Oakland Film Society and Councilmember Lynette McElhaney are excited to host The 40th Anniversary of Roots - An Evening with Stars in Oakland's Black Arts Movement and Business District as part of the 15th Annual Oakland International Film Festival. This event marks the first time the producers, directors, and actors from the 1977 series and 2016 remake have shared a stage to discuss the groundbreaking film. Hear from cast members like Academy Award Winner Louis Gossett Jr. "Fiddler" and Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs "Noah" for the original series, Mario Van Peebles, Director of Episode 2 of the new series Mark Wolper and more. Bay Area native Danny Glover and Christen Ayers from KPIX5 will serve as moderator.

Learn more about The 40th Anniversary of Roots – An Evening with the Stars and fill out the form below for a chance to win a pair of tickets.
