Nearly one year ago, we received exactly 22,367 applications for tickets to the Santa Clara tapings of Antiques Roadshow. Only 3,000 of those applicants were lucky enough to receive tickets and get the chance to have experts reveal the fascinating truths about their family heirlooms, yard sale bargains and long-lost items salvaged from attics and basements. The tapings certainly got the Bay Area talking…

And now, whether or not you were one of the chosen few, it’s time to see the Bay Area’s treasures be revealed in a big way with the long-awaited broadcasts of the taping. Tune in for part one of three on Monday, April 20 at 8pm on KQED 9. Part two and three will air April 27 and May 4, respectively.

We saw some major appraisals in Santa Clara (think six-figures!), numbers that Marsha Bemko, executive producer of the program, says are hard to come by for most our beloved possessions. And if you’re anything like us, guessing the appraisal number is all part of the fun! Test those appraisal skills and knowledge with the new Antiques Roadshow “Appraise It Yourself” play along game.
