Sun 12/13: KQET DT25 Over the Air signal down

(DT25.1, 25.2, 25.3)
UPDATE Mon 12/14 4:50pm: Unfortunately, we are unable to repair our fried equipment, and will need to order/find a replacement. At this point, we do know the signal will definitely not return tonight, and do not yet have an estimated time re: when it will be back. Thanks for your patience and understanding while we work on repairs.
(This post will continue to update whenever I learn more. –Red)

UPDATE Mon 12/14 3pm: We’ve been able to get to the tower today, and have isolated the problem (a piece of fried equipment due to a power surge). At this point, we’re not sure if we’ll be able to patch up the existing equipment or need to order in a new piece, so we do not yet have an estimated time for the signal to be back on air.

ORIGINAL POST Sun 12/13: We are aware that our DT25 Over the Air signal is down in the Watsonville/Salinas/Monterey area, since about 10am Sunday morning. This affects both Over the Air viewers, and viewers of provider services that use that signal as their source for the region.

This outage will probably last at least a few days, as the severe weather at Fremont Peak caused mudslides and other obstacles, and we are currently unable to get to the transmitter to assess damage.

We will update this post as we learn more.

Comcast Cable/Xfinity customers are not affected by this outage.
