2/17: KQET transmitter off-air

KQET DT25’s transmitter on Fremont Peak went off air at apx 3:15pm, due to a fiber connection failure in Salinas. A crew is on the way to repair, but there is currently no estimate as to how long those repairs will take.
Comcast Cable customers should see no interruption in service. Other Cable and satellite companies will restore their signals as soon as the transmitter is back up. Most digital sets and converter boxes will also auto-restore the signal, but a few Over the Air (OTA) viewers may need to rescan if the duration of the outage becomes “too long” for their particular tuner.
