Profile: Barbara Erickson London, WWII Pilot

Barbara Erickson London was in the vanguard of female pilots during WWII and by the age of 21 she was flying fighter planes as a squadron commander. Barbara was the first woman to fly a P-47 and she received an Air Medal for her service during the war — the only WASP to receive the award. Recently, Barbara received the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest honor congress can bestow.
