First Covered California executive director Peter Lee reported 10,000 hits per second which was later corrected to a peak of 16,000 views per minute. Now the LA Times reports that Covered California officials say they had about 645,000 page views the first day, not 5 million as they told us Tuesday.

California's health insurance exchange vastly overstated the number of online hits it received Tuesday during the rollout of Obamacare. State officials said the Covered California website got 645,000 hits during the first day of enrollment, far fewer than the 5 million it reported Tuesday.
