SpaceX Launches its Dragon Spacecraft to the International Space Station

Update: The launch was successful and the Dragon spacecraft has entered orbit. It will take a couple days to get to the International Space Station. Once it arrives, it will remain there for about a month. More details about the mission are on SpaceX’s mission overview document (PDF).

Original Story: SpaceX, a private space company, is planning again on Friday to launch its Dragon spacecraft to the International Space Station. Its first attempt to launch this mission was scratched on Monday because of a helium leak.

The live webcast begins at 11:45 PST and the launch itself is scheduled for 12:25, though SpaceX notes that the weather isn’t ideal.
