Katharine Mieszkowski is a Bay Area environmental reporter. She grew ),(up in a suburb of Houston, where there's still no curbside recycling. ),(A graduate of Yale, she's been a staff writer for Salon and Fast ),(Company. If you're hoping to catch some rain yourself this winter in the Bay Area, you shouldn't have any problems with supply. There's likely to be plenty of water gushing off your roof, since even small ones shed thousands of gallons over the course of a typical rainy season.
