It's no secret that the media industry in the San Francisco Bay Area - and in every other part of the country - is in the midst of a massive transformation. Traditional broadcast networks are losing audience. People are forsaking newspapers. Shrinking revenues have forced media companies to consolidate and make deep cuts to their local news coverage.

At KQED we continue to believe that an informed electorate is one of the pillars of our democracy, and as other news organizations have shrunk we've expanded our efforts to cover the issues and events that are important to the Bay Area. KQED Radio News airs 16 local newscasts daily on KQED 88.5 FM beginning at 6am. Additional newscasts can be heard at 6:30am, 7am, 7:30am, 8am, 8:30am, 9am, 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 4pm, 4:30pm 5:04pm, 5:30pm and 6pm.

KQED Radio News also can be heard streaming live online at kqed.org/listen, and archived audio of the newscasts can be found at kqed.org/news/bayarea. To learn more about our news staff, click here.
