Special on air and online features planned for governor's annual address
SAN FRANCISCO, January 28, 2011 - Join KQED Public Media on Monday, January 31 for live on air and online coverage of Governor Jerry Brown's 2011 State of California address.
The speech can be heard live during a special 5pm broadcast of The California Report, a production of KQED News. Host Scott Shafer will provide analysis of the speech and talk with experts about what it means for California, and reporter John Myers will be in Sacramento to get reactions from state officials. The California Reportis heard on more than 35 stations across California. In San Francisco, the State of California broadcast can be heard on KQED 88.5FM. In Sacramento, it will air on KQEI 89.3FM. The speech also will be streaming live at KQED.org.
Meanwhile, you can share your opinions on the governor's plans during a live online chat from 4:30-6:30pm on News Fix, the KQED News blog. The chat will feature a discussion about California's financial struggles, a topic that is expected to be the focus of Brown's address. News Fix writer Jon Brooks also will host a live blog covering the speech, and he'll be highlighting posts by Facebook and Twitter users talking about Brown's plans.
